Scholarships are available to law students studying toward a Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.).

In addition to a letter of recommendation from a member of the law school faculty or a legal expert who is not the author of the paper, applicants must submit two copies of a recent legal paper. You should also send a cover page with the paper’s title, as well as the contact information for the student’s advisor (including their mailing and electronic addresses). Applicants must be in good standing as students at an approved law school in the United States of America, and must be pursuing a Juris Doctor or a Juris Law Bachelors degree.

2. Rizio Lipinsky Lawyer Scholarship  

The Rizio Lipinsky Scholarship provides future lawyers with a one-time gift of $5,000 to help with the high cost of attending law school. To be considered for the Rizio Lipinsky Scholarship, students must submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words in length. In response to the offered essay prompt, applicants are expected to elaborate on their reasons for seeking a career in law and how they plan to use their legal training to promote social justice in the future.

Students currently enrolled in a law program or those who will soon be enrolling in one are both welcome to apply for the scholarship, provided they meet the residency and acceptance conditions. The recipient of the award is not the student but rather the law school of the recipient’s choice.

Eligibility requirements: Open to U.S. citizens who have been accepted to and will attend a U.S. law school in the 2022-2023 academic year, as well as current law school students who will remain in the U.S. for the duration of the 2021-2022 academic year.

3. University of Liverpool Law School LLM International Bursary in the UK

The University of Liverpool developed the outstanding LLM Bursary to support the postgraduate legal studies of individuals who have excelled academically and who have shown a commitment to the field. Liverpool Law School is responsible for the administration of this scholarship, and it is funded to assist students financially so that they can participate in the University of Liverpool’s growing LLM program.

• Coursework in the LLM programme (or related subjects) is acceptable.

4. Hodgson Law Scholarship

Elizabeth Hodgson, the widow of Liverpool Solicitor Joseph Hodgson, established the Hodgson Law Scholarship through her philanthropic giving. Elizabeth Hodgson has spoken of her desire to better prepare lawyers who might serve the people of Merseyside. So that dream could come true, we created this scholarship. The Trustees intend for Hodgson Law Scholars to attend school in Liverpool so as to encourage long-lasting relationships between the city and its legal community. Motivated by a desire to aid the intellectual growth of promising law students and to fortify relations to the Liverpool City Region, we have taken these measures.

In addition to covering complete tuition for a postgraduate taught degree in law, the scholarship also provides a stipend in the amount of £9,207 every academic year (LLM).

5. UCL Rodney Stubblefield LLB Opportunity Scholarship in UK

UCL Rodney Stubblefield LLB Opportunity funding is available in the United Kingdom through the University College London Scholarships. This scholarship is intended to help new undergraduate students from the United Kingdom get started at UCL.

6. Harness & Dickey Diversity & Inclusion Fellowship

Harness & Dickey offers a Diversity & Inclusion Fellowship to incoming first-year law students who want to obtain experience in the field while also expanding their knowledge of intellectual property law. In addition, they are provided several opportunities to expand their professional sphere of influence.

While working as a clerk at one of Harness IP’s four locations in Dallas, Detroit, St. Louis, or Washington, DC, candidates receive compensation commensurate with that of a regular summer associate.

Harness IP fellows who successfully complete their summer clerkships will receive a $5,000 scholarship to go toward their legal education. You must be a current law student to apply for the Harness & Dickey Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship. Candidates must also fit one of the following categories: female; LGBTQ+; veteran of the United States Armed Forces; physically or mentally disabled; a member of a racial or ethnic group that has been historically underrepresented in the legal sector; or a member of the armed forces.

7. ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund 

Twenty incoming law students from a wide range of demographics are awarded $30,000 in scholarship money from the American Bar Association’s Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will provide the recipient with $5,000 every year for a total of $30,000 throughout the course of their three years of law school.

This scholarship will make it simpler for members of historically underrepresented groups to pursue a legal degree, which will lead to a more diverse crop of attorneys in the not-too-distant future. In order to be considered for the LOSF, applicants must provide two letters of recommendation from teachers or professors who know them well. 9. NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund’s Earl Warren Scholarship

If you’re a young law student with a strong commitment to racial justice and promising prospects for a career as a civil rights and public interest attorney, you may want to apply for the Earl Warren Scholarship. This award is given only once a year. Full-time students starting their first or second year of law school at an accredited university are eligible for this award.

When it comes to educational programs, the Earl Warren Scholars Program is truly exceptional.

Awardees of the LDF’s Earl Warren Scholarship get $30,000 per year for three years, for a total of $45,000. (provided that the recipients maintain satisfactory academic standing and continue to satisfy the scholarship criteria). Earl Warren Scholars not only get generous financial support, but also have the unique opportunity to take part in an internship, externship, or directed research project at the Learning Development Foundation (LDF). Every year, scores of students apply for a handful of these coveted spots.

10. ANU College of Law International Pathway Scholarships in Australia

Stipends make it possible to further one’s education and work toward one’s professional objectives by relieving some of the financial stress that comes with doing so. International Pathway Scholarships to assist with tuition fees are now being accepted at the Australian National University. In addition to domestic students, international students may also apply for funding through this initiative.

The scholarship hopes to encourage outstanding graduate students to attend the College of Law at the Australian National University (ANU College of Law). In order to help students who choose to study in Australia, the Australian government will provide them with a yearly stipend of $20,000.

• Acceptable Standards: Candidates must meet the following criteria in order to be considered:
• To be considered for admission, you must have applied to the ANU College of Law’s Master of Laws (LLM) program.
• It is generally agreed that a 5.0 GPA out of a possible 7.0 is a very good one.
• The University of Indonesia, the University of Malaya, Thammasat University in Thailand, or the National Law School of India in Bangalore are all acceptable institutions from which to earn a law degree.
